So, I thought I would join the bandwagon and write about my life as a stay at home mom. I am hoping to keep family and friends updated on our life as we enter this new stage. I am not always the best at keeping in touch with everyone, so hopefully this will help everyone follow our exciting lives!
I suppose I should back track a few months to where this journey began. For those that do not know or need a refresher course welcome to Jenn and Joel 101. Joel and I met in August of 2006 at a Church of the Saviour beach weekend. The irony in this is that both Joel and I do not like the beach. However, that weekend would forever change our lives. We both came away from that weekend realizing that we found someone special. Joel even told his best friend that he met the girl he was going to marry! From that point forward we have been inseparable. Dating each other was quite a journey. For those of you who have met us you know that we are both stubborn and pig headed along with fun loving caring. So, we had a roller coaster of a relationship. After one year of our relationship, Joel decided to make it official. He proposed on August 21st 2007! It was a total surprise and super romantic. We got married about 7 months later on March 8th 2008. Our first months of marriage were quite rocky to say the least, but with our unconditional love and devotion to each other, we persevered. After 6 months we worked out a lot of kinks and have been in wedded bliss since then! One week before our one year anniversary we got an amazing present, one that would change our lives forever. We found out we were expecting our first child! Nathaniel David was born about 8.5 months after that on October 16th 2009.
So for those of you who need a little recap: dated one year, engaged 7 months, married one year, found out we were having a baby! Wow can you believe all this excitement in 3.5 years! All I can say is that it has been an amazing journey up until this point. I have learned to love deeper than I can imagine. I have learned to live outside myself and serve the people around me. I have begun to learn to love myself.
I will expound upon my journey as I move forward with this blog, but for now I want you to know what keeps me ticking. I have an unshakable faith in Jesus Christ. My earthly relationships have shaped me so much, but my Father has shaped me the most. He has stretched me in ways that I cannot explain. He has poured blessings on me that I do not deserve. He is constantly showing me how to love Him and love others. I am learning something new each day! I hope that through reading this you will see how my faith and my life is shaped out in front of me.
For now that is all. I am going to enjoy writing about my life for my family and friends to see! In the meantime enjoy some photos below of my journey with Joel up until this point!
